MultiFaith Habitat 2008 Update

We may not be as ‘extreme’, but we are really excited about our sixth MultiFaith Council Habitat for Humanity Build with partners CitiFinancial and Lowe’s. 

Faith group participants include the Baha’i Faith; Church of the Brethren (Heatherdowns); Church of God, Seventh Day; Corpus Christi University Parish; First Church of Christ, Scientist – Maumee; First Unitarian Church; Hindu Temple of Toledo; Islamic Center of Greater Toledo; Masjid Saad; Muslim American Society – Toledo; Religious Science; Sufi Faith; Toledo Buddhist Sangha; Trinity Episcopal Church; United Jewish Council of Greater Toledo, Inc.; and Unity of Toledo. 

Additional support comes from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield – Toledo; Dad Patchen, Inc – Electric; Boy Scout Troop 154; Mick Electric; Panera’s; Stylecraft, Fremont; and West Toledo Rotary.  Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity has additional sponsors.

Our partner family is looking forward to the building of their new home.  The Build starts Saturday, September 27 and continues through October 25, with dedication slated for Tuesday, November 11, at 6:00 PM.

We are pleased to announce the 2008 MultiFaith Habitat Build, our Sixth Build.  The Build starts on Saturday, September 27.
We are building a four-bedroom, 2-bath home for Sabrina English, her children Jamie (18), Channing (13), Caullin (11), and grandson Jordyn (1).  It will be at 429 Waybridge Rd, Toledo, OH 43612.
The steering committee meetings for faith group representatives will be at 7 PM Sept. 9 and 16 at our home 3009 Gunckel Blvd, Toledo, 43606 – near Toledo Hospital.
Faith groups and other sponsors may send their financial contributions, checks to Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, to the Gunckel address for data basing and forwarding to our Build.  Individual contributions may be made in honor of a special person.
The Volunteer Rally Potluck and Build Blessing will be held Wednesday, September 24, from 6:30 – 8:30 at the Hindu Temple of Toledo, 4336 King Road, Sylvania, OH  43560.
Volunteer sign-up sheets are on our website, www.multifaithcouncil.org, and from your faith representative.
